I will update this review as time goes on. So far, this is a huge improvement over the generic office chair that I have been using. I am 6'2" tall @ 200lbs, my desk is 31" high and my old chairs seat was 22" high. That combination meant that my arms were elevated to use my keyboard and my knees were slightly below 90 degrees when sitting with "proper" posture. Because my arms were elevated, I had to use the arm supports on the chair to prevent my neck and shoulders from cramping, which they still did after a long time in the chair. In addition, my old chairs back support was too far to the rear and at a poor angle and promoted poor posture, with a tendency to lean back into the support instead of sitting vertically with shoulders back. This chair assembles in minutes and looks pretty well made despite its country of manufacture (a negative selling point, in my opinion). At its lowest height setting it is just about the right height for my desk/height combination. My arms and legs are both at slightly greater than 90 degrees when sitting in a comfortable position with proper posture. The chair almost forces you to use proper posture, as slouching is immediately noticeable and you have no back support to lean back against. This is one of the reasons this does not have 5 stars currently, but may be upgraded to 5 in the future; this chair can be exhausting to use all day! Some days I am primarily in our factory with very little sitting and some days I am almost entirely in the office. I currently cannot get through a 10 hour day using only this chair. After about 6 - 7 hours I have to go back to the old chair for the rest of the day because my back muscles are exhausted. I believe this is my own lack of conditioning and not the fault of this chair. If, in time, I am able to get through the day with just this chair (and no negative events otherwise) I will update the review to 5 stars. The only other notable thing to report, which is a minor nuisance, is that the swiveling seat tends to "learn" a new position if you twist in it for too long. I spend a lot of time collaborating with other workers in my office and if I swivel around to talk with them for a few minutes, the chair seat will remain pointed toward them instead of "snapping" back to the forward position. I haven't attempted to see if this is an assembly problem or an unfixable feature of the gas cylinder in the chair. It is easily fixed by simply swiveling back to the forward position and remaining there for a few minutes. It doesn't really affect the function of the chair in my opinion, so I haven't deducted anything for it.Overall I think this is a good option for anyone who feels cramped in a standard office chair, or those with taller desks. Just be prepared to switch back to the old chair if you get tired using this one! I am considering converting to a standing desk, so I will also report on any findings related to that. This chair extends to a height that is plenty tall enough for me to use it standing/leaning. Another plus for those of you who already have standing desks.EDIT: I have removed 3 stars. I still like this chair in concept, but it is just slightly too short for me at 6'2" tall. I have moved to a full standing desk from the one noted above and the height of this works for alternating between leaning and standing fairly well, but there is one big problem. The front edge of the cushion has a plastic support inside of it to help retain the cushions shape. This lip curves upward and ends up digging right into your thigh/buttock if you lean there for more than a few minutes. It is certainly a motivator to stand up again, but it is not healthy or ergonomic! Finally, while I was leaning against it today I heard a loud pop and nearly fell backward off of the chair. The screws holding the tilt device halves together pulled out of the plastic, leaving no resistance on the base of the unit. I took it apart and added longer screws to be able to use it for a bit longer, but this chair is destined for the dumpster. This was a good learning experience, however. The next chair will be ergonomic, certainly more expensive and more Made in America...I really wanted to love this product. I know that my normal office chair simply doesn't work. It's uncomfortable and messes up my back. So, I tried to enter the world of Perch sitting. My first two options were sold out. I landed on this one and did read that some commenters found the seat uncomfortable but was willing to give it a go.However, as much as I tried to convince myself I loved the product, the end result is that my back does feel better, but it's a literal pain to sit on. I find myself constantly having to shimmy my legs as the very hard bottom at times limits my circulation to my legs.As a caveat, I'm 5'9 and a healthy snack when it comes to my weight (250 lbs/113 kg). Perhaps a lighter person wont have the issues I had.For me, it was a no.Additional Detail: I have a mechanical stand up desk so I had no issue with adjusting my desk to get the correct angle for my arms and wrists. I know one commenter was a bit upset about it, but he also had a standard non-adjustable desk.I like the way it's so easy to get some support while at a standing desk without sitting.I also like the way its support moves around, so that I can choose my sitting angle to some degree. I often place my feet on the desk support bar, which is just a few inches off the ground and is a nice change for the legs & feet. But it requires two hands and a bit of a hop to get onto the seat, since it's so stiff. You could lower the seat, but then you'd not be leaning on it, but actually sitting. So the design of this seat (flat) with the very small angle of travel of the support bar, means that any attempt to lean without first hopping up and pulling the seat with both hands underneath you will result it in slipping out from underneath you.And once you're on it, the firm and level cushion do not conform to the hamstring, causing the back of my legs to go to sleep with extended use.I would purchase another if these issues could be corrected. But I haven't found anything else better in this price range. So I'm happy to keep using it, rather than go back to lowering the standing desk and pulling over a chair just to get off my feet for a while.I think there should be some instructions on the best way to use this chair. It is day 3 and my butt is very sore. I do see the benefit of using this chair as I am not passively sitting. I am going to give it some time to see how I feel, but I am considering purchasing another chair. The height definitely works for a standing desk and it was easy to assemble.Buy something else.I bought this hoping to help take off some weight at my standing desk, and help with posture. It doesn't lean forward enough, and has begun to creak under any amount of weight shifting on top of it. I'm not a particularly heavy person.Customer support dragged their feet on my return until they no longer had to return it, so I'm stuck with this wildly uncomfortable, squeaky, piece of garbage.Find something else, this isn't it.Great wobble movement and ease of use as well as putting it together. Not as comfortable as I was anticipating it to be. Perhaps, once I use it a little more I will find the sweet spot for leaning or sitting on it.Solid product.I was hopeful with this stool. I threw out my back using it in the first week. It’s really just to perch, not to sit. I sold it to someone else immediately to prevent more ergonomic disasters.Malheureusement cette chaise ne convient pas au standard d'ergonomie. Dangereux de tomber vers l'avant et donne des douleur impressionnante au coxysDoesn't lean forward enough. 6'1 and finding it awkward to use at it's raised Standing desk height. Was looking for something that allowed more freedom of movement and leaning ability. The build quality is decent though.
